In Memoriam

Here is a neat little piece of writing concerning those members of the Cleveland granfalloon. Anthony Bourdain wrote a nice little essay about Harvey Pekar. I find it a bit funny, but fairly fitting, that the most notable author in Cleveland toiled in the pulpy medium of comics.

While reading the paper, I noticed that my brother shares a birthday with Keith David.

I would just like to make people aware of how kick ass Keith David is.
1) He's the voice actor for Goliath on Gargoyles, and Spawn, among other credits.
2) He does nice work in great video games like Fallout and Halo
3) He is in tons of John Carpenter movies.

Bike to Work Week!

Every year, Columbus has a fine "Bike to Work Week." This year it actually lasts about 10 days, and one day the bikers will get a cool police escort down High St. from the Gateway to the Statehouse. I believe the Mayor and the Director of the Columbus Metropolitan Library will be cruising down.

All this is very neat, and it's cool to join and say you'll make an effort to bike to work. However, the reason it is blog worthy is a fun little fact of a certain member of this blog (not me) is the paragon of Columbus bicycling. Mr. Gallagher is looking particularly regal to boot!

You may have to scroll down a ways, but I'm sure you will find a pleasantly familiar face at the bottom left.

Cool Little Movie

So there is a fine movie about how the Sonics were moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City. It's available online and is free. Its quite interesting, although a bit depressing to see how the city of Seattle got screwed by the owner, and how the NBA didn't really care. All because the citizens of Seattle had the audacity to not fund a new stadium only a dozen years after they had with the Key Arena.

The things you learn on NPR

So I was listening to NPR about an hour ago and I heard this:

Dahlia Lithwick, senior editor for Slate.com, and Martin Gold, a lawyer for the Chamber of Commerce, discuss today's Supreme Court ruling following up on the Citizens United case. In a decision in the Chamber of Commerce V. Federal Election Commission case, the nation's top court has ruled 5 to 4 that corporations have a right to vote.

I really can't believe how far the supreme court has gone this time.
